Creative Workshops & Events

Explore your inner creative with new skills and enjoy some of our flowery events!

Many people say ‘I don’t have a creative bone in my body’  but until you have the opportunity to try in a relaxed, fun environment you will never know and be surprised to find you most definitely have. It’s often like so many things – a willingness to just give it a go and enjoy the experience!

For those wanting to learn a few floristry skills and also enjoy time here on the farm at one of our creative workshops or picking flowers please take a look at what we are currently offering.

  • Come and enjoy an hour at the farm picking your own tulips from a selection of over 3,000 which will be flowering throughout the month of April and early May. Different varieties will be ready for picking each week as we only plant small batches of each kind so there is lots of different and unusual ones to choose from. Price includes picking 20 tulips of your choice on the bulb whilst having a relaxed time, surrounded by nature in the walled garden. Bring a friend if you wish and make sure you have a clean bucket to pick them in, and enjoy a lovely morning at the farm picking flowers. Book a 1 hour slot from either 10am, 11am, or 12pm.
  • SATURDAY 13TH APRIL A Spring wreath is such a lovely one to make and they look so pretty adorning your door.  Join us for a relaxed and creative morning making your own fresh spring wreath using a combination of fresh and dried flowers, spring bulbs and farm foraged finds for a wild and seasonal style.  We will be using our own homegrown willow rings and there will be plenty of choice in terms of materials to use.  All produced locally and sustainably.
  • Would you like to spend a morning immersed in flowers, picking your own and learning how to create a beautiful, summer handtied arrangement to take home? If you are new to flower arranging and would like to learn the technique  (even if you don't feel like a creative person it really doesn't matter we are here to guide you) , or just love flowers and fancy a relaxing morning in beautiful surroundings, why not join Rosie this June for a morning of fresh air, flowers and lots of cake! With the walled garden blooming with an array of early summer flowers, there will be many varieties to choose from. The day will start with a tour of the cutting garden, Rosie will give an overview of how she cares for the flowers she grows and useful tips for cutting and conditioning them.  Once you have seen all that is available,  you can decide what you would like to pick for your own arrangement and get snipping! Whilst the flowers rest and drink, we will do the same with refreshments and lots of homemade cake. A chance to ask Rosie any questions you may have on growing and floristry before Rosie demonstrates how to create a very natural handtied bouquet, before then guiding you if you require a little gentle encouragement with your own arrangement. We will also show you how to wrap it in paper and tissue (no plastic here).  A beautiful scented bouquet to take home or maybe give as a present and for future occasions you will have the skills to make your own gift bouquets.
